Position Overview:

The Inside Sales Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of existing customer accounts, ensuring exceptional service, proactive engagement, and steady growth. Unlike traditional sales roles, this position will not require heavy prospecting or frequent travel. Instead, it focuses on building strong customer relationships, executing day-to-day sales responsibilities, and supporting transactional and tactical business needs.  The incumbent will serve as a key link between customers and internal teams, collaborating with operations, R&D, marketing, and customer service to deliver seamless solutions and a best-in-class customer experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage assigned customer accounts with a focus on relationship building, customer satisfaction, and sales execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer communications, including inquiries, order updates, and product information.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within assigned accounts.
  • Manage sales forecasting and contribute to planning processes for assigned customers.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data in CRM (Salesforce or equivalent), including opportunities, forecasts, and customer interactions.
  • Own CRM effectiveness – Maintain accurate customer and sales data in CRM (Salesforce), and help improve system structure, reporting, and usability to support sales operations.
  • Collaborate with operations, R&D, marketing, and customer service to address customer needs, resolve issues, and deliver solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver account updates and performance reports as needed.
  • Execute proactive sales initiatives, campaigns, and promotions designed for existing accounts.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role (sales, account management, technical, customer service, or related).
  • No prior direct sales experience required — strong relationship management skills are essential along with polished and refined character and professional conduct that inspires trust and credibility with our customers and creates a positive first impression.
  • High energy, adaptable, detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce or equivalent) preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across departments.

Compensation and Benefits:
BFI offers a very attractive compensation package, including a base salary, three variable bonus programs, 401k safe harbor match of 4% along with group insurance options for medical, dental, vision, life and disability.
