Position Overview:
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the company’s business applications—particularly ERP, CRM, inventory, and quality systems—across all departments. This person acts as the internal owner of business systems, working closely with cross-functional leaders and managing relationships with external IT and software vendors. The BSA ensures systems are aligned with operational, financial, and strategic goals, despite the absence of an internal IT department. The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will bridge the gap between raw data and business decision-making, including data modeling, dashboard design, and user collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- System Ownership & Optimization
- Serve as the internal expert on ERP, CRM, and other core business systems.
- Document and optimize business processes across departments (Finance, Supply Chain, Sales, Quality).
- Manage system configurations, roles/permissions, dashboards, and reporting needs.
- Manage enterprise data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc).
- Cross-Functional Support
- Translate business needs into functional requirements for ERP and related systems.
- Support Finance with reporting, BOM costing, inventory reconciliations, and master data management.
- Work with Sales and Customer Service on CRM workflows and customer integration (EDI/portal).
- Vendor & Project Management
- Act as point-of-contact with external IT service providers and consultants. Lead small-to-mid-size system improvement or integration projects.

- Build and maintain operational and financial dashboards (e.g., in Excel, Power BI, or ERP reporting tools).
- Establish and uphold standards for data model documentation, dashboard layout, and performance.
- Analyze system data to identify inefficiencies or improvement opportunities.
- Governance & Data Integrity
- Maintain data accuracy and completeness across platforms.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3–5+ years of experience in business systems analysis or similar role
- 3+ years of combined experience in data modeling, Power BI development, or related analytics roles.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage X3, or similar)
- Strong understanding of business processes in manufacturing or food/CPG industries
- Demonstrated ability to manage external IT vendors or MSPs
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with data/reporting tools
- Power BI or similar dashboard/reporting experience
- Familiarity with flavors or ingredients industry (batch production, BOMs, quality control)
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot), EDI, or PLM systems • Project management or Six Sigma experience a plus

Compensation and Benefits:
BFI offers an attractive compensation package, including a base salary, performance bonus.
