Position Summary: Brookside Flavors & Ingredients is seeking a detail-oriented Regulatory Specialist with 3 to 5 years of experience in the sweet and/or savory flavor industry to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, exceptional organizational skills, and a proven ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes. This role requires a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to ensure meticulous compliance across all aspects of product development and labeling. Job Responsibilities:
- Generate and validate official technical documents for new and existing flavors and ingredient systems, including Product Data Sheets, Safety Data Sheets, Nutritional Statements, and other various regulatory statements.
- Gather and analyze the necessary data to ensure compliance with domestic (FEMA GRAS, USDA) and international (Codex, EFFA, JECFA, etc.) regulatory requirements for flavors and ingredient systems. Conduct risk assessment to identify potential regulatory issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Review and approve product labels and advertising materials to ensure compliance with labeling regulations and truth-in-advertising laws.
- Assist in achieving and maintaining various certifications like Organic, Non-GMO Project Verified, Kosher, Halal, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sales, Quality, MIH, and Production) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements throughout product development, from concept to launch.
- Provide training to internal teams on regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
- Proactively conduct market research to understand regulatory changes and trends that may affect the flavor and beverage industry.
- Stay up to date on regulatory changes and understand the implications to the business related to these changes.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, food science, nutrition or other related field.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a regulatory role in the flavor industry.
- Experience with savory flavors is a plus.
- Experience with alcoholic beverages and TTB submission is preferred.
- Familiarity with ProductVision or similar formulation software is strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills are a plus.
- Able to articulate commercialization process
- Experience writing and implementing an SOP is plus
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit, stand and walk during various times of the work day.
- Ability to use a computer during the work day.
