Brookside Flavor & Ingredients LLC (“BFI”) is a diversified developer, manufacturer, and marketer of food flavorings and ingredient serving both sweet and savory end markets. BFI is headquartered in Addison, IL with another facility in Branchburg, NJ. BFI is a fast-paced company expanding through de novo initiatives, organic growth, and continued acquisition of flavor companies and technologies. 

Position Summary:
The Pack Out Worker will be responsible for the packing of powered products into appropriate containers per the customer’s specifications. The Pack Out Worker will ensure that the proper placement of lids on containers has been completed and that the appropriate labels have been placed on all containers. The worker will place the finished labeled product on the pallet before being moved to the warehouse for storage or shipment. 

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Accurately measure and pack liquids and dry products from totes or tanks to fill drums, buckets, bottles, or bags as per batch card 
  • Proper operating procedures are required to prevent errors and /or contamination 
  • Careful attention is necessary to ensure accuracy 
  • Packing and labeling containers in accordance with customer specifications and completing all required documentation while maintaining a neat, clean and organized work area 
  • Accurate completion of the KPI form after each batch has been processed 
  • Clean vessels (industrial-size mixing bowls) 
  • Must be able and willing to cross-train in every role in Production to be a backup 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Ability to follow directions and strong attention to detail 
  • Preferred 1-3 years of food and beverage manufacturing experience 
  • Excellent basic math skills 
  • Good organizational skills 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team 
  • Able to understand the importance of chemical handling safety and adhere to safety regulations, guidelines and procedures (HazMat) 
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in written form and be able to interpret and understand documents such as safety, operating, maintenance and procedure manuals 
  • Ability to understand and follow SOP’s, GMP’s and HACCP’s is a plus 
  • Forklift experience a must 
  • Must have excellent attendance, willingness to work overtime and or weekends if necessary 
  • High School Diploma or GED 


Physical Demands: 

  • Ability to routinely lift to 50 lbs. per day 
  • Ability to handle heavy materials, including drums required 
  • Ability to stand throughout the total hours of the working shift 
  • Ability to walk throughout the total hours of the working shift 
  • Fine finger dexterity 
  • Ability to work with allergens (dairy & food colorings) 

Work Environment

  • Work performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, noise levels, extreme temperature conditions 
  • Regularly exposed to odors, fumes, noise, and allergens (dairy and food colorings) 

Personal Protective Equipment 

  • Safety Glasses are required while performing specific tasks 
  • Nonslip steel-toed shoes are required on the Production Floor 
  • Hairnets, facial hair nets, and ear plugs are required to be worn on the Production Floor 
  • Lab coats, uniforms, or coveralls are mandatory on the Production Floor
