Brookside Flavor & Ingredients LLC (“BFI”) is a diversified developer, manufacturer, and marketer of food flavorings and ingredient serving both sweet and savory end markets. BFI is headquartered in Addison, IL with another facility in Branchburg, NJ. BFI is a fast-paced company expanding through de novo initiatives, organic growth, and continued acquisition of flavor companies and technologies. 

Position Summary: This position ensures the accurate receipt, inspection, documentation, and distribution of raw materials and finished flavor products while maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and industry-specific handling standards. The coordinator works closely with production, quality control, and supply chain teams to ensure a timely and efficient flow of inbound and outbound material management.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Shipping
    • Pick orders/materials from stock and prepare for shipment (wrap, label, and document)
    • Prepare company regulatory documents for daily shipments
    • Forward the prepared shipping documents to the appropriate person at the receiving company
    • Load trucks with outgoing shipments
    • Process daily order shipments into Brookside ERP system (SAGE)
  • Receiving
    • Unload trucks with incoming material deliveries
    • Sample materials for QA analysis
    • Receive incoming materials into Brookside ERP system (SAGE)
    • Label materials with identification labels
    • Put away materials into stock locations
  • Inventory
    • Partner with Inventory Control to support inventory location and quantity accuracy
  • Customer Service
    • Partner with Customer Service, Planning, Operations, and Inventory Control to ensure high customer satisfaction
  • Other duties and tasks as required and/or assigned by

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; two-year college degree or equivalent preferred or any appropriate combination of education and relevant work experience
  • One to three years of relevant customer service experience in a fast-paced shipping environment
  • Experience with carrier manifest systems (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
  • Ability to drive stand-up and sit-down forklift highly desired
  • Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends
  • Preferred knowledge of plant materials and bill of ladings systems
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft suites: Outlook, Word, Teams
  • Strong analytical, decision making and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and through written correspondence

Technical:

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new processes/systems
  • Experience using Sage X3 ERP software is highly desired, but experience with any modern ERP system required
  • Comfortable with the use of web-based systems

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk
  • The ability to lift 50+ pounds multiple times during a workday
  • Availability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to work with allergens (dairy & food colorings)

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday
  • Routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, box cutters, tape dispensers
  • Regularly exposed to odors, fumes, noise and allergens (dairy & food colorings)
  • Ability to work in an environment that is both hot and cold and not temperature regulated
  • Non-hybrid role

Personal Protective Equipment

  • Non-slip steel toed shoes are required on the Production Floor
  • Hairnets, facial hair nets and gloves are required to be worn on the Production Floor
  • Lab coats, uniforms or coveralls are mandatory on the Production Floor
