BFI is headquartered in Addison, IL with another facility in Branchburg, NJ. BFI is a fast-paced company expanding through de novo initiatives, organic growth, and continued acquisition of flavor companies and technologies.
Position Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for the successful and efficient execution of order picking and shipping and receiving. Understand all SOPs, GMPs & HACCP regulations to ensure product safety, worker’s safety, worry free services and quality product to our customers along with the proper use of all equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the successful execution of all warehouse activities
- Provides departmental leadership and efficiency
- Ensure that all picking, shipping, and receiving policies & procedures are followed by warehouse staff
- Ensure that all shipping documentation is accurate and correct
- Compliance with all regulations/certificates needed to ship via air and land
- Approval of all outbound shipping invoices
- Communicate with other departments regarding concerns/issues
- Communicate with carriers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries of customer orders
- Prepare orders to ship and create documentation as needed
- Ensure the shipping staff remains compliant with all company safety policies
- Reports any food safety problems to personnel with the authority to initiate actions
- Inspection of incoming trailers and contents of trailers for infestation of pests, integrity of the trailer, odors, etc.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements by attending seminars, webinars and conferences Forecast daily shipments by utilizing systems and analyzing customer orders
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in shipping food products/flavors highly desired. Must have S&R leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, two-year college degree or equivalent preferred or any appropriate combination of education and relevant work experience
- A team player with the willingness to “do the work” in addition to supervising and delegating work
- Ability to multitask, as well as prioritize and handle conflicting objectives
- A strong understanding of FIFO rotation and lot code traceability
- Must be dedicated to meeting the requirements and expectations of both internal and external customers
- Strong communication, organization and planning skills
- Must be self-motivated and results-oriented, with superior problem-solving skills
- Must be comfortable making decisions and having confidence in those decisions
- The ability to lift 50+ pounds multiple times during a work day
- Computer skills – Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience using UPS and FedEx systems needed
- Experience using Sage X3 ERP software highly desired, but experience with any modern ERP system required
- HazMat Shipping Certified highly desired
- Ability to drive stand-up and sit down forklift highly desired
- Non-hybrid role
